Use our resources judiciously

Since early 2020s the founder of Mawongpa Water Solutions with assistance from Bank of Bhutan installed a tap stand at the clock tower square which was free of cost. However, it seems not many people tend to have the knowledge that the facility actually exists.

While people spend so much on bottled drinking water, the public should use this facility when it is freely available and safe to drink at the core of the city.

It seems not many people may not know what this Mawongpa Water Solution’s imitative is as it needs to be made aware of its products to the general public.

Who is responsible for creating awareness on such facilities and aren’t Thimphu Thromde’s duty to make people aware of such free services? The facility, at the same time, needs to be periodically mended against the wear and tear if any during the course of serving at large as one of the important public utilities in the city.

Emphasizing the importance of water and its benefits this universally safe and readily available water is important for public health. Improved water supply and sanitation and better management of water resources, can boost countries economic growth and can contribute greatly to poverty reduction at large.
