14-year-old missing boy in Phuentsholing found dead



The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) of Phuentsholing found the body of a boy from Badara Khola on 7 July.

The boy went missing on 3 July from home. He stayed in a neighbor’s house on 3 July. He was sent back home by the neighbor on 4 July according to the information source.

Phuentsholing RBP received a complaint only on 5 July. The tshogpa of Wangdigatshel chiwog got a call from the police and alerted the community. The 80 members team led by RBP, Desuups and locals started to search for the boy after receiving the complaint. The boy was found dead at around 12.45 pm on 7 July at the waterfall base at Mandanay, Wangdigatshel, about 100 meters away from the deceased’s house. The dead body was taken home at around 4 pm and funeral rites were performed on the same day.

The 14-year-old deceased was a paraplegic. His mother is a housewife and supposedly his stepfather works in one of the offices in Phuentsholing.

The cause of the death of the 14-year-old boy is unknown. The case is under investigation according to the Phuentsholing RBP.
